5. How did you end up in the Energy Industry?

I interviewed on campus at the University of Arizona, and hired on with Schlumberger. My first position was as a wireline engineer in Liberty, Texas. I've been in the oilfield ever since.  

6. Why do you like working with Start-Ups?

I like the nature of a Start-Up. They have to be driven and energetic (they can't just sit back and relax). They have a tremendous amount of empowerment (there is virtually nothing that can hold them back). Members of a Start-Up are held accountable for both their successes and their struggles.

7. What are three of your interests outside of work?

  • My Christian faith is very important to me. Giving, studying the Bible and group learning..

  • I'm an avid golfer.

  • I enjoy reading both fiction and non-fiction.

  • I've been married for over 28 years.

  • When I left my position at TechnipFMC, my direct reports gave me a plaque for "18 years of leadership, service and friendship."

  • Since starting at Seahorse Energy, I have gotten back into my engineering roots. Including learning SolidWorks and re-registering as a professional engineer in the State of Texas.

If I were a superhero, I'd like to think I would use my engineering skills. Ironman.

When I was 5, I was pretty sure I'd be Evil Knievel. I absolutely loved riding my bike and jumping.

If I weren't so damn good at what I do now, I'd probably be broke.

If I won the lottery tomorrow, I'd spend more time helping those in need. So, I'd start a philanthropic company.
