5. How did you end up in the Energy Industry?

I grew up in an area where a lot of oil and gas activities were happening (near South Pars which is the largest gas field in the world). I became even more interested and decided to get a degree in Petroleum Engineering when I learned how reservoir engineers use laws of physics, chemistry and computer simulation to increase recovery from hydrocarbon reservoirs.

6. Why do you like working with Start-Ups?

I have worked for two start-ups in the past and those have been some of the most rewarding years of my life. There is a joy in solving problems no body has solved before and building something that has not existed before.

7. What are three of your interests outside of work?

• Traveling

• Hiking

• I ranked first in my class both during undergraduate and graduate education.

• My PhD research won me First Place Award in SPE Student Paper Contest in Western North America and Best Paper in SPE Improved Oil Recovery Symposium.

• I have led multi-disciplinary teams to deliver digital and data-driven products and solutions to top Fortune 500 companies that have exceeded customer expectations.
