She is a photojournalist turned marketer who is passionate about helping companies tell their story and develop a deeper understanding of their customer, creating engaging content for target audiences, and designing processes that help drive customer success. With a background in journalism and marketing, telling compelling stories and connecting with people is in her DNA. Her work has been featured in Beauty Revived, and she was awarded Couples' Favorite from Weddings in Houston. She loves to think outside the box and doesn't follow the status quo just because "that's the way it has always been done." She is obsessed with supporting startups and loves the challenge of helping them develop a marketing plan and content that will drive demand and growth for their business. When she isn't busy driving Sanjay crazy by questioning everything and eating Reese's peanut butter cups for dinner, she loves spending time with her family, running, reading, creating, and driving her Jeep. She believes in giving back and wants to help children who have been affected by a parent's struggle with addiction.

Different is Necessary

By Becky Willmon on 8/5/20 3:35 PM

Remember the Arby’s “Different is Good” campaign from the 90s? I remember deeply analyzing that slogan. The campaign rolled out around my middle school years when life was all about trying NOT to be different.  Middle school was all about fitting in with everyone else. But thankfully, middle school isn’t forever. After working with several companies as a marketing consultant, I know that being different is crucial for a company because what makes them unique is a huge part of their marketing strategy.  It doesn’t work for companies to just “be better”, they have to be different in a relevant and valuable way too.  Different is necessary.
